The full moon is a great time to hike Kilimanjaro. Why? Well the weather conditions tend to be better around those dates and so on a full moon night we’ll often find that we hardly use our head lamps as it is so bright! Great fun for sure. Be warned though, since we pioneered full moon trips back in the 90’s they have become popular with other operators – expect relatively busy trails at those times. You can also start a little earlier or later or ask us (and our travel partners, they have the info we do) about great times to climb that are more ‘off peak’ and still fabulous hiking.
